Friendsgiving 2008

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how important traditions have become in my life. And during the holiday season they’re everywhere – I love that Zach and I drink white russians while we decorate our Christmas tree, I love that my family gets up on Christmas morning and eats quiche and sticky buns, and for Thanksgiving I love that all of my college girlfriends (plus a few new recruits) get together for a delicious potluck dinner that we call Friendsgiving.

This year Mark and Melissa – the most newlywed couple of the group – hosted and their house and Mark made Friendsgiving’s first ever fried turkey.

The setting was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the company was unbeatable.

At the end of the night we even got out the Rock Band and had a pretty good jam session. We’re definitely getting old.

You’re so right. Traditions are the best. And Freindsgiving sounds like pure brilliance.

PS – Bet you were wishing we’d actually had band practice all those times. 😉
