Save Broadway Books

A friend of Zach’s recently wrote a post on his personal blog telling the story of independent businesses struggling during these tough economic times. One of those struggling businesses is his mother’s bookstore in NE Portland called Broadway Books. But, not only did Aaron post on his blog, he Twittered about it and wrote about it on Facebook and emailed his friends. And, he’s offering to buy a burrito for anyone who can produce a receipt from Broadway Books for $50 or more between now and Christmas – “Meet me at Cha Cha Cha on SE Hawthorne in Portland on Friday January 16th at 6PM with a receipt from Broadway Books for over $50 and between today’s date and Christmas and I’m buying your kind ass a burrito.”

I don’t have any books on my Christmas shopping list, but I hope to make it to Broadway Books soon anyway. And, I’m not doing it for the Cha Cha Cha burrito (although they are delicious), but I’m looking forward to seeing how many people show up on January 16th to celebrate with Aaron.

If you’re in the Portland area, maybe I’ll see you there!
